|A||2-tier air conditioned coach||In this, there will be 6 Berth Groups amongst which 2 berths will be facing each other and these will be larger and bigger in size when compared to 3-tier Berth. For Example:- Upper and Lower Side Berth.|
|B||3-tier air conditioned coach||In this, there will be 8 Berth Groups amongst which 3 berths will be facing each other and these will be smaller in size when compared to 2-tier Berth. For Example:- Upper, Middle and Lower Side Berth. You can also call it, the similar thing to a sleep coach.|
|C||Air conditioned Chair car||This coach code is used for the day trains, when the sitting arrangement is done in 3+3 seats, which can be pushed back and always have the walking area, also called as Asile in between.|
|D||Second class seats which can be booked||These are Pre-booked (3+3) Seats with walkaway in between. These seats are booked even before the boarding of train.|
|E||Executive chair car||These more wider and spacious Seats (Chairs) than a normal chair car.|
|EXT||Extra Coach||You may have seen, this code being used mostly in festival seasons, because the train travel number’s increases during holidays or in festivals. So, to provide seating to all of the extra commuters, extra coaches are added and in most cases, these coaches are of lower classes.|
|DE||Combination of executive class and second class||Some coaches are divided in middle, Usually executive class just separates itself from other’s due to spacing, so some seats are changed in berth and hence some berth include both seats, seats of executive class in one half and 2nd class in another half.|
|F||Non-A.C First class version||These are the Non- AC rooms with doors but without any side berths. In these only 2-4 persons accommodate.|
|G||3-Tier Air conditioned(Garib Rath)||This code is used t indicate the Sleeper Class (Class s) for Garib Rath.|
|H||First Class air Conditioned||It is Air Conditioned Class which is similar to F class.|
|HA||Combination of H & A class||HA is used, when two berths are combined with, first berth as first class air conditioned (Type H) and the second berth as 2-tier air conditioned (Type -A).|
|HB||Combination of H & B Class||HB is used, when two berths are combined with, first berth as first class air conditioned (Type H) and the second berth as 3-tier air conditioned (Type -B).|
|J||Garib Rath Chair car version.||It is Chair Car Sitting for Garib Rath.|
|RA||2-tier air conditioned RAC||It is RAC in coach type A|
|RB||3-tier air conditioned RAC||It is RAC in coach type B|
|RG||3-tier air conditioned RAC Garib Rath version||It is RAC in coach type G|
|RS||Sleeper class RAC||It is RAC in coach type S.|
|S||Sleeper class version||
It is a group of 8 Sleeper Class Berths with 3 berths ( upper middle and lower) facing each other and 2 berths on the side.
In some cases, it also has 9 Sleeper Class berths with 3 berths in side layout.
|SE||second class , executive chair version||It is like Class E coach, which is non-air conditioned.|
